Sonor Force 3007 "Jungle" Kit

Post by BrucedDrummer »

Here is my Force 3007 "JUNGLE" kit which I picked up NIB off Ebay back in 2014. It came in the 16" Kick, 10" High Tom and 14" Floor Tom. I added a 16" Floor Tom just to round out the kit (as few in the same color were hard to find). The color is a lacquer translucent brown (not red). The 16" Kick came with a "riser" bracket underneath so to fit standard pedals. Amazingly, the 16" does have punch and girth to it!!! That 10" tom also has a thing to it, it is the perfect tom sound! This was an all maple kit made up of a mix of Canadian and Chinese wood. It is a really well balanced kit and sounds great. Nowhere near the presence and projection of a German Made Sonor, but one of the best drums out there in the price range. (I paid near $1000 with the extra floor tom). The only upgrades I did was to change out the heads for clear Remo Ambassadors and a PS3 on the kick. The Chinese "Sonor" heads that came with it were thicker and "stiff" feeling. The matching snare was "OK" but I am not a fan of wood snares, so I found an early 70's Slingerland Krupa Chrome over Brass (COB). That made everything right! I also added the jungle tambourine snare as an auxiliary. This was my first official kit that I bought for myself and my first Sonor, as recommended by my drum teacher (he had a red sparkle lacquer kit in his studio and it hooked me on Sonor).
