Sonor Designer sound test - no processing

Post by _spelman_ »

From the description of the video (not mine):

"Got my restored Sonor Designer Maple Lights finally set up.
I was totally BLOWN AWAY by the sound.
What you hear is an absolutely non processed sound, nothing, nada!
Faders up, that's it!
Sorry for the one handed playing, had no choice.
Use headphones please.

Kick: 20x16 (Beta 52A)
Snare: 14x5 (SM57 top & bottom)
Toms: 8x8, 10x9, 12x10 (e604), 14x12, 16x14 (MD 421 II)
Rest of the mics.
Overheads: 2 x KM184
Room: 2 x Schoeps CMC 5 with MKH capsules, not quite sure about this. One in the room and one in the hallway.
Hi-Hat: AT PRO37"

I agree with what you are saying.. The note is so pure I don't hear that with other manufacturers.

My favorite Sonors were the German Force Maple which are pretty much the same shell as Designer Maple Light.
