For those who record professionally, for fun, have project studios or anything else related; what mics are you using, and why? Also, have you experimented with other mics to land on what you are currently using?

I have two Audix mic packs, based on the recommendation of the local store and a few others. I wanted to buy once and do it right rather than faffing about with heaps of options to find what I liked and pouring money down the drain.

While I'm quite sure there are alternatives, some which would be better at great expense, this stuff just works and gives great results.
