Vintage Series 22/13/16/18 Tuning settings - lo-fi video

Post by Jules »

For anyone interested...

Clear Ambassadors top and bottom on toms, no muffling. Stock heads on bass drum with felt strips added. Controlled Sound X snare batter, Hazy Ambassador Snare Side

Here are the tunings using Tune Bot (matched tuning on toms).

13" 169
16" 134
18" 106

Bass Drum (not sure - didn't make a note - but I think I am going to torque it up a little more.

Snare: 399 snare side, 300 Batter - Still tweaking to do, and will rotate heads out here and there.

General notes:
Toms - I like them, but I think I could drop the pitch down a full step and still be happy with them.

Bass Drum - I need to hear it in a live setting, but I would like more oomph to it, so far on softer playing.

Snare - Also need to hear live and tuned both up and down. I have lots of tweaking to do to get to my ultimate sound, not to say that it doesn't sound good, but there is going to be a particular sweet spot and I am going to find it! :)

10"X9" SQ2 Heavy Birch White Sparkle Tom (for my future burial)
New Rig Coming 2026 (Details TBD)
