Funny you should post this... The one I picked up recently wasn't a $2800 model, but I'm still quite happy with it.

Decided I wanted to get a decent quality acoustic guitar to learn to play on, and even in several rooms surrounded with Taylors, Guilds, Gibsons, Fenders, PRS, etc, at pretty much every price point, it was the Martins I kept coming back to.

Settled on the 000-X2E as it was in the price range and had the quality level and features I was after.

Despite it being made in Mexico, having laminate sides and back, and looking rather "plain" (satin finish, no binding, minimal fret marker inlays, etc, I'm still VERY happy with its sound - both with and without an amp. Martin did an excellent job maintaining their signature sound even with what many would consider a "budget" model and materials.

Martin 000-X2E

Sq2 - Med Beech, Rosewood finish - 10/12/14/16/18/22 + 6.5x14
Performer - Wine Red, 12/13/16/22 + 6.5x14 (D456)
Phonic - Oak, 13/14/16/22

Fender's Mexico Factory (180 Miles south of the California factory) is proof positive that a Mexican factory can meet or exceed US production quality. I have no doubt you have a fantastic guitar.

BTW, I am glad to get positive feedback on posting non-Sonor videos like this. I think that a gear heads with a passion for the best, seeing things like this would be appealing to at least several of us around here.
