One is an Asian made Epiphone and the other is made in the Murphy Lab at Gibson in Nashville TN. I am flabbergasted by the price of the Gibson. What exactly do you have do to a guitar to get the price that high?
Think of all the work and materials that go into the Sonor Signature or SonorLite 150th Anniversary drum set and explain how this costs much MORE!

I'll take: "What is supply & demand?" for $200, Alex.
Guitars bring these CRAZY prices, which never made sense to me. Just like this whole relicking thing--take a $2500 guitar, beat the crap out it by scratching the paint up and putting dings in it all over the place, and it's suddenly a $5000+ guitar? And here I thought tone was in the fingers...

My wife doesn't take issue with any of my drum purchases, but I showed her this anyways to let her know it could be worse

Those are the types of details that I've learned to abstract from my wife. I've found that it works out better for me that way, as what she doesn't know won't hurt me. At least when it comes to drums.
