Who are your favorite Sonor Artists?

Post by Jules »

Long term, I have been a Phil Rudd fan for 40 years. He has a swinging groove others just haven't replicated. He is a great 2 and 4 drummer, but he isn't really someone that you are going to watch and say, WOW. You are going to FEEL wow from the whole crowd rocking to his beat, but short of some slight embellishments in the songs, that's pretty much where it begins and ends with him.

Admittedly, I am not a drummers drummer and for whatever reason, I just never into watching highly skilled drummers. But, I have had a bit of an eye opening lately, and checking out some of the drummers I have interviewed has been very interesting to say the least. All of the big name interviews I have done so far have had an incredible interest to me in some way or another. Not because I get star struck (I don't), but just digging into parts of their stories that may not have been explored before.

Tal Bergman was about as fun as an interview gets for me! Embarrassingly, his Israeli accent caught me off guard, but he didn't seem to be bothered about that. He was all smiles and seemed to really enjoy the conversation. From all accounts of everyone I have talked to that has spent any time around him, he is a hilarious guy and the life of the party. I would love to meet him. Aside from that, he has the chops! I love watching the videos he does almost daily in his studio. He's the one that made me really want the Artist Bronze. As to the sequences he plays along with, he creates those himself the night before. To see several of his tracks on one page, go here: viewtopic.php?t=343
