In June this year I pulled the trigger on a 14“x8“ Signature Heavy Beech Snare with the famous Bubinga veneer. I really wanted to have one of those for a long time, but somehow never got to the point of buying one.

Mine came with a S-Hoop on top and the flanged Sonor hoop on the bottom (with missing snaregates).

Soon after receiving it, I disassembled it and ordered all new screws, washers, gaskets etc. via ST-Drum. Luckily I also found a 12 Lug Die-Cast Signature hoop for the top.

The veneer had some minor scratches, but after oiling the snare, you can‘t even tell they were there.

Now I got my really fresh (and good smelling 😂) Sonor Signature dream snare.

Although I got to say, I‘m not the biggest fan of the throw off. It works just fine and I got no problems with mine, but the Dual Glide is way superior in my opinion.

I far prefer the Dual Glide, but I much prefer the snare response from the parallel action snare. My only experience is with the HLD588 and the crunch from those wires is from another realm entirely.

I got you. I like my wires always a bit looser, but on the Signatures I can‘t get that sound I‘m looking for. They are always pretty tight right away (or I suck at dialing that in 😅).
