For the gear heads: The 5 Sonor snare drums used on the new Styx record “Circling From Above” (left to right.) 14x6.5 SQ2 medium maple with American Walnut (inside and out), 14x6.5 Kompressor brass (nickel plated), 14x6 Artist Bronze, 14x5.5 SQ2 heavy beech with African Marble (inside and out) tuned low, and in center- 14x5.5 SQ2 heavy beech with African Marble (inside and out) tuned high. These were the choices for the whole album recorded in Nashville, December 2024.
