I pieced together this Frankenstein/orphans kit in 2014 when I formed Guilty Pleasures Orchestra, my 70's & 80's band. I knew we'd be playing lots of summer outdoor gigs and was concerned about using my Scandinavian Birch Lites for those. The 22x17 is a Birdseye Azure Delite; the 8x8, 10x9, and 12x10 are Stain Burgundy Maple Light Designerst; the 14x14 is a Stain Green Maple Light Designer; and the 16x16 is a Birds Eye Maple Light SQ2. This is the original Bumwrap finish.
I've used my Lites exclusively with the band, including outdoor gigs, for the past 3 years and decided to go with a different finish on the Delite/Designer/SQ2. I've always thought the Signature Impala Laquer finish had a simple elegance. Horst Link had a Mercedes in the color and thought it would look great with Bubinga on the inside, so it was offered for a few years in the late 80's. I did some online research and a found color code #8a795d to be pretty close. Bumwrap sent me a sample and I pulled the trigger. I got it rewrapped in early June and finally got around to taking a pic. The 8x8 isn't pictured. I'm really happy with how it turned out and it's a nice contrast to the very woody look of my other kits.
