Interestingly, the MIM (made in Mexico) models now say Made in Ensenada. Teles and P Basses start at $1,099 and top out below $3,000.

The made in Mexico Fender instruments have a reputation for high quality and higher QC than their US made counterparts. Fender built the plant in 1987. It is about 80 miles south of the border.
