Not sure if there’s an appropriate place on this forum for it, but would love to hear some sound samples with your different snare wire and hoop options.
Anytime anyone can't find somewhere that seems like an ideal place to post something; post it in the best place that makes sense to you, send me a PM with the link and I'll make a proper place. We have no limitations on places to put things.

I appreciate the excitement! Also, I had to Google Black Swamp cable snare wires. Been doing this for 40 years and still learning new things. Thanks for that!

Not surprising. Gut/Cable snares are more common in Symphonic environments and not so much for drum set applications.
Just like they describe - much dryer, crisper sound, and with noticeably less sympathetic vibration.
I have an extra set of dual-glide clamping plates, but haven't had a chance to set them up with the cable snares yet. The idea was to have a couple different sets to swap between as per the Protean setup.
Best I'd be able to do would be a simple phone video, and not sure when/if I'd get to that. I'd need to order another open-gate power hoop so I'll be able to swap snare wires between all 3 of my dual-glide equipped snares, and I have a couple other projects in my queue I need to finish first...

Thanks for the explanation! I’m totally uniformed to the symphony world.
Also, I couldn’t let you have all the fun and grabbed this yesterday. I swear, I just went in to pick up some new snare wires, but they just so happened to be attached this this

Agreed! Being able to only look at this online, I may or may not have purchased it. The ability to see it in person definitely influenced my decision.

And THAT is one reason why it's dangerous for my credit card to walk into Mike's - I can pretty much guarantee I'll find something I'll want that will want to come home with me...
I forgot to ask - has he had any of the "Just blame it on Gallus" shirts made for the shop yet?

Dangerous, indeed! I didn’t see any T-shirts, but that hashtag did make it to my Facebook post.
