I need to do some deeper research. I may have misunderstood something I read.

Yes there has never been a KHS drum that was undersized like the German shells afaik. ... If there was then that is big news IMO.

The Kompressor metal drums are undersized and made by KHS no? I realise the beech ones are German shells, so are we referring here to just the wooden shell moulds and tooling?

Yes. I am referring to all the wooden KHS drum sets since we are talking about molds and Julian made this topic based on German molds sent to China. Kompressor snares are very recent and not produced from a mold.

The topic is "When were the German molds sent to China?" These are molds for wooden shells and this would of been sometime in the 90's.

So now.. where are the Chinese drums that are undersized and made from German molds ?

Frank's reply with the article from Drum Business explains when the Force molds were sent to China. Something I read some time ago led me to believe that Germany had built new molds and sent the old ones to China. MAYBE that was in reference to the castings for the metal parts. At any rate, I must have had my wires crossed in thinking that Sonor Germany had replaced its shell forms and the older ones went to China. Had that been the case, then the AQ series would have the OSM, feature. I was apparently mistaken, but am still looking for what I read a few years ago for clarity.
