Vintage series - has the 14x9 tom been discontinued?

I was perusing the Sonor website and looking at the Vintage series drums and noticed the 14x9 tom seems to no longer be listed.

Anyone know if that one was discontinued, or is it simply not shown on their website (oversight, data not entered, etc)?

Yes I think it was discontinued a few years ago.

Can confirm. I received mine (in New Zealand) in October 2024, having ordered it around January of that year. I'd noticed it had vanished in the New Year of 2024 and when I ordered it they confirmed they were running down what stock they had at that point and that would be it.

I'm aware. Just not sure if I'd want to deal with the wait to add one (be like waiting for an SQ2...again)

It's just a research thing at this point. I'm considering selling the Performers and picking up a Vintage kit. Since I can readily find the 13/16/22 setups I was looking into options for adding a 14 to match the 13/14/16/22 sizing of my Oak Phonics.

Let’s ponder that…

Production is still trying to get Momentum stocked globally and maybe doing odd single item drums ties up too much time.

Of course, that’s the whole concept of SQ2, so I don’t know. Even if not for Momentum, I would surmise they are pretty close to full production.

IF they would do it. I would expect it would simply be made (and priced) as an SQ2, just with the specs, hardware, etc, of the Vintage...

So - looks like a 14" Floor tom would be the solution for this idea...

The Vintage series 14x9 tom is still in production in all current finishes. Discontinued finishes can be special ordered if the wrap is still available. Typical lead time for special orders in the US is 6-9 months. Your preferred Sonor retailer should be able to order it for you.
