NAMM 2026

Post by drummermark »

Anyone here attending NAMM? I used to go every year when I lived in L.A. but I think my last show was 2017. Don’t really miss it to be honest. Seems like Sonor is going to be focusing on the Momentum series so not expecting anything new to come out of it.

I was looking at pics I took from 2017. I don’t remember taking the following, but in general, I would always snap a shot of something that jumped out at me and caught my eye. I was deep into Pearl and Yamaha so Sonor wasn’t really on my radar, but this was a work of art!

Depending on how things go at the Music City Drum Show in July, I MAY get a booth at NAMM next year, but I would really have to have an incredible show in Nashville in July to even consider the travel and expense.

I'm curious about the business angle on this Jules? Are you aiming to get towards opening a store of your own? Surely simply getting eyes on your brand to get some sales on the second hand stuff and/or raising the awareness of the community isn't monetarily worth the outlay of a NAMM booth? Plus, is it not for manufacturers to sell to dealers?

Dave, as to the event being geared toward mfgs to sell to dealers, I would have to see if there would be an issue. All the second hand stuff is gone.

NAMM would put me in direct contact with more Sonor Artists and users in general and as is the plan for July, I will be doing interviews "on the fly".

So the benefits, if I decide to go and can get a booth would be to build the awareness of the channel, make deeper contacts within the Sonor company, and face to face vs. email, and record content for release on the channel.

Last July I was just an attendee in Nashville, but had several people stop me and comment about the channel. Plus, getting to meet in person and have one on one conversations with the KHS America people was advantageous. Many Sonor Germany people attend NAMM, so that would really be a feather in my cap, if I could be there in my official capacity.
