This can be a series, or a specific item. As long as it's Sonor.

I'm gonna throw a nod to the Benny Greb beech snare. It does absolutely everything, really, really well. My snare count is currently at 41, and of the other 40, I'd say the Benny can mimic all of them pretty well up to about 90%. It never reaches 100% of any of the others, so I still consider it a generalist, but you really can do away with an entire snare collection with that thing.

People know it's a good snare but I don't see anyone stampeding to get their hands on them, they just trickle away in the background, doing their thing.

My vote - while this may seem silly because it's so inconsequential in the bigger picture and they have done SO many cool and innovative things over the years, but my vote's for the DKH Drum Key Holder. :?

DKH - Item # 145-019-01 ... Not sure if they still make them, as they don't seem to be in any catalogs.

It's just a plastic tray/clip that screws to the underside of your throne, and includes/holds both a cheap "standard" tuning key and the 90-degree MK Multi-key (both standard square and slotted that fits pre- and current SQ2 rods).

I have one under the front of each of my thrones, making it VERY easy to access and I know exactly where it is at all times. Never have to worry having to dig in the stick bag for one, or if I have the right key for that kit with me, since the slotted end of the Rotor keys don't fit my Phonic's or Performer's slotted rods...

I guess less of "An amazing instrument that no one talks about", and " a small, thoughtful, easily overlooked piece of engineering that gives me just a bit more piece of mind behind the kit" 8-)

Sq2 - Med Beech, Rosewood finish - 10/12/14/16/18/22 + 6.5x14
Performer - Wine Red, 12/13/16/22 + 6.5x14 (D456)
Phonic - Oak, 13/14/16/22
