My 14x15 and 16x17 Lite floor toms fit in H&B Enduro Pro 14x14 and 16x16 cases. No need to special order.

That's good to know - that would make things MUCH easier.

I didn't realise they already offer an extra deep version - I can guarantee that a 'deep' 18x18 case would fit a 18x19 drum, because my normal vanilla 18" FT case already fits the 18x18 with maybe an inch of overlap.

The Hardcase stuff isn't as popular in my neck of the woods, so this input's really appreciated.

So this leads to my next question - 17" deep kick (Lite, Hilite, Delite, etc) in 16" deep case - any issues, or same results as with the floor tom cases?

I can only really speak to the Hardcases here (I do also have some Ahead soft cases and have had SKB cases pass through) but Hardcases cater to differing depths - it's the same case for a 24x14 as it is for 24x18 for instance.

About the only place you get unstuck with them is overtly shallow or overtly deep sizes. So they do separate piccolo snare cases for instance, and a 24x10" bass drum would move around within a normal case. On the opposite end extra deep floor toms push the standard cases to their comfortable limits, and if you had one of those stupid 24x22 bass drums, you'd need a special Hardcase for it.

Their flexibility on size is one of their more useful things for me. That and the stacking function.

That's a good question. My only bass drum hard case is a 22x18 and that stays in the garage. I'm hauling all my own gear these days, so I use an Ahead 22x18 bag for gigging. My toms and snare travel in H&B cases.
