Content suggestions for Coffee with Jules

Post by Jules »

What are some topics I should cover on Coffee with Jules? This can include something I have already discussed but should go into deeper.

Acquiring new Sonor rig in 2026.

I reckon you could do a quick run down on a specific series of drums from the back catalogue. Give the warts and all opinion (Sonic Plus - worst bass drum spurs ever made! Designer Series - giving plastics technicians waking nightmares for decades! Hilite Exclusives - the copper looks gorgeous, just don't ever use it!)

And you could make them tongue in cheek...

"Tonight, we're talking about the Vintage Series, where all owners have a superiority complex and a closet desire to be Benny Greb. Just don't talk about the double seams on 18FT wraps. Owners of Black Onyx drums from early in production are not allowed to talk, because they ALL wish they had bought other sizes while they still could. Some say if they ever reintroduce Black Onyx, we will know Doc's Delorian actually works."

"Today we're discussing the iconic Signature Series, where owners are not content enough with owning the world's best drums, they need to further segregate themselves and their ascendancy up the Horst Link Ladder to Heaven by distinguishing on such wild basis as 'my veener is more orange than yours', 'I have ferro hoops', 'do you have a 6" tom' and the most divisive of all 'ebony veneers don't count.'"

I like the discussion of forum topics, because sometimes I don't have the time to read as much as I'd like to on the forums. With winter coming to Wisconsin, there's lots of things to get done before the heavy snow starts falling. In fact, I haven't even gotten the 12" and 18" Vintage toms out of their shipping boxes yet!

A brand new grandbaby takes some time, but MAN...is there a lot of stuff to get done this year!
