That is one hellaciously GORGEOUS finish. Wow!

I will add that although the Vintage series lugs really never did it for me when I first saw them a number of years ago, they are definitely growing on me. They are arguably more "natural" in appearance than the Sonor SQ1/SQ2-style lugs, when you think about it. I mean, if you asked a non-drummer to pick out the "best" looking set of drums on a stage full of similarly-finished Sonor SQ1/SQ2/Momentum drums with one Vintage series kit in there, my bet is that a good share of people would pick the Vintage kit. The lugs are simply pleasing to look at--the lines make them very attractive to the eye. So I'm really digging them more and more.

I completely understand the attraction us (Sonor-geek) drummers have to the SQ2-style lugs: They represent what we consider to be the best-sounding brand of drums ever made. But for sheer elegance and asthetics, it's very hard to beat the look of the Vintage series lug.

That's my 2 cents anyway. Your mileage may vary...

Out of interest, I speced as close as possible to this kit in an SQ2 on the configurator today and its 8045.42 EUR.

So it the Sonor 150th Craftsmen's Set for 7999euro being a limited edition but no ability to expand with matching drums and no 150th badging.

Or SQ2 not limited but the ability to tweek sizes and add more matching toms.

I think for me (apart from no150th badging) the Sonor 150th Craftsmen's Set is nicer than the anniversary sets

I reckon, if they play their cards right, this Craftsman Series will be their limited run, high demand halo product alongside the SQ2s. A bit like they've done with the One of a Kind snares, but with kits.

Completely out of their minds with the price on this kit! They still cant sell all the other 150th kits released at namm.

How much of that price is accounted for by the tariffs though? Or is that even in addition to this price?

When I just bought the 12" Vintage-series drums, I was given one price...and that was that. I was told that the price had gone up a bit due to the tariffs, but for the 18" floor tom, since that was already in the country, the price was (apparently) the old price. So I'm not sure whether or not there was any bump on that one. But my understanding is that for the 12" tom, there was an increase. No one told me how much though, and I didn't ask.

I can tell you that the 12/14/20 plus snare kit I recently bought here was around $8400 NZD. That's a normal Vintage Series with black slate wrap. The Craftsman Series according to Thomann's site currently is $16,247 NZD. So it's a sniff under twice the price of a standard kit. No real tariffs to speak of here.

£6495 for the 150th kit in UK from a UK dealer. The regular VS in UK is about £24-2500, plus snare.

As a side, does anyone know of any who have picked one up? :)
