They were maple/Bubinga shells at first then he switched over to the maple/gum shells with the Black Limba veneer.

Yeah, but wasn't the Bubinga just the inside ply? I thought the shells themselves were basically all maple...and thick, as I recall. Am I not remembering that correctly?

Correct on the heavy maple. The Bubinga was an inner and outer ply.
