They are all no mount. The MT is part of the model number and apparently stands for momentum. It’s on all the drums including toms, floor toms and snares.

Wait...so you're saying that NO bass drums have a tom mount? Seriously?

"Interesting" decision.

I won't be in the market for a Momentum kit (I have Sonorlites, Maple Light Designers, Medium Beech SQ2s, and a Vintage Series kit, so I'm well covered on 6mm shells ;) ). But if I was, I'd do the drilling for a mount since I need it about 4 inches forward of the factory position. IMHO, cymbal stand mounted toms are a major pain in the *** for gigging.

I’ve got some images from UK drum show of the Momentum series, including RRP’s for UK. All are NM bass drums, so I guess there may not be a mount option as mentioned above.

Will post when I figure how to host…
(If someone can point me!)

I think you're the edge case though, as most people likely wouldn't give that location a second thought. And if they would care about it, they'd buy the NM version, and drill/cut the hole themselves. But the point is that they'd have a choice: Either buy the NM model, or buy the model with the mount.

So far, I love everything about this new line...except this decision to NOT offer a tom mount on the kick drum. That seems short-sighted to me, but maybe they just felt that most people don't want it? And I guess if you are able to buy an NM kick drum and drill it for a "custom" location, then you'd be able to just as easily mount it in the standard location.

Personally, if I were to buy this kit, I would have three kick drums (20, 22, 24). I would want one of them to have a tom mount, and would likely make that one my "gigging" kick drum...just to keep things more simple on the gig. My 22" vintage kick does have a mount, but the 24" kick I'll likely order won't have a tom mount. But who knows--maybe I'll bag that idea now, and just get a whole Momentum birch kit in a year or two. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

Hey--maybe my wife will go for that idea? "Honey, I wanted a kick drum without a tom mount, so I bought a whole Momentum kit. Those bass drums don't have a mount."

Problem...solved?!?

I didn't do the conversion to US dollars, but it seems like they are priced similar to the Vintage series kits?

EDIT: I just did the conversion for a 22" kick and a 10" tom--they're actually a little bit less than the Vintage drums, certainly not more. So, very affordable in other words--and a great alternative to the SQ2 "medium" thickness shells, if you don't need to have the fanch finishes and bespoke size(s) configuration.

So if person wants to have a shiny high-gloss lacquer kit (or vintage or heavy shell thicknesses), then you need to pony up for the SQ2 lines. But if the medium-thickness shells work for you, and you're not especially hung up on the color choices...a person can save a fair bit of money, and still get basically the same shells.

So the whole "They're going to bring back the S Classix kits!" thing turned out to be even better than I thought though, because you now get the choice of ANY of their shell materials...not just birch. So you can now mix and match shell materials within the same kit. That's a great management decision, IMHO.

From what I can see, seems they are potentially a little more than VS here in UK, but there aren't many sales channels with them live yet. Just for some comparison, a Threexx shell pack for VS is about £2500 in UK, that's not RRP.... will wait to see what dealers put Momentum out at.

Thomann are offering 22/12/16 maple for about £3399 I think, this is more than they offer the VS equivilent (£2600 approx. on Thomann to UK)

I'm guessing there are extra costs to get the drums here to the states, so it makes sense that the vintage-series kits would be a bit more here than in the UK. Therefore from what you said, my guess then is that we might expect the same to hold true for the Momentum kit here in the states--it will be a bit higher, due to shipping them over here. I was using UK prices and just converting those to US dollars--but that cost basis might be invalid due to the freight to get them here.
