I'm getting pretty mixed opinions from drummer friends who aren't heavily wedded to Sonor, in particular with the name and the finishes...

What's interesting is they're pretty damned close to what most people ultimately end up ordering from SQ2. So maybe not the sexiest product but actually what everyone is asking for?

That's the thing that seems lost on people, Dave. They have to build what sells. I am not being cross by any means, by the way. I like what I see, really. The California Burl appeals to me the most. Give it some time and I may look to flip these Vintage drums!

SQ1 and Prolite are still available it seems. Are the SQ2 pre configured shell packs still a thing?

Also for @tcbetka...

They're close to S Classix but not exactly the same

Tbh I‘m not a fan of this new series.

At least I can still order SQ1 stuff over the next three years.

What don't you like? Just curious, not trying to change your mind.

I guess for most people the medium shell are the best option, but somehow it‘s pretty lame you now only got one shell thickness option. The Prolite and SQ1 made the series Sonor offers more divers. Now it‘s pretty much all the same to me and the only way to get something different is SQ2.

The Vintage series is also 9ply 6mm, or am I wrong? Yeah you got the rounded bearing edges, but now all pro level Sonor drums are 9ply 6mm.

Also the shell sizes may work, we‘ll have to wait on that. Usually I‘m also a fan of more shallow sizes on toms, but sometimes you get the vibe that Sonor decided on these sizes just for the sake of being different.
