Sonor 2000 Series Hardware

Post by Jules »

I only bought the 2000 Series because it was a prepackaged set. Owning mostly 600 series hardware over the years, my expectations weren't real high, but this is great hardware. The hardware commentary is later in the video.

No doubt its great. I have a set of the, prior to 2000, 200 series hardware now in use for over 20 years, and aside the snare basket tilter, it's all still going and I still take it out on gigs. It's a nice balance of sturdy and not a crazy weight to move around.

What happened to the snare basket, and is that something they corrected in the 2000 series?

Well, just over years of tightening the tilter wingnut, the material fractured/bent inwards a little, so the wingnut could not tighten down on it. It now has a little DIY fix but the way of a washer, but I wouldn't take it out to gig it.
