Signature Ebony outer with Bubinga Inner set

Post by sonordrug »

Have had this kit for some years after acquiring it from fellow Sonor geek in Australia (I think). Is it one of a kind, maybe. Signature Makassar Ebony outer with Bubinga inner on heavy shells. Sizes are cool (for me) at 8x8 10x10 12x12 14x16FT 18x16BD. It's a good looking, sounding and playing set.

Along with these I have 15 other Sonor sets of different eras. Have sold in recent times several really fine Sonor setups. I'm thinning out over time. This one is supposedly sold and I'll be delivering it at Nashville's Music City Drum Show in July, 2025. It was shown also at the Chicago show a month ago and that's where I found the buyer though, it's not yet a done deal.

Yet to take good photo as of yet, that I know of so posting this one which doesn't show the 8. Love these drums!

Not sure why the photo is sideways but if clicked on it rights itself. Would love posting photos of some classic Sonor sets in the near future!

Lane you should do the kit of the week then Jules would have all of 2025 covered between the all the kits you have had over the years

Yes indeed, sounds like a plan. I'll have this set until middle of August, actually. At that time it will be sent to it's new owner. That's the plan, at least. Going to an old friend in Chicago who I bought my first teardrop set from some decades ago.

Last year I had a Phonic acrylic smoke in bop sizes. That would have been a cool one. This years bop sized teadrop rosewood. Another Ruby pearl teardrop bop about to go to France! Both of those just sold. I've decided to pare down though keeping plenty on hand.

Been quite busy which means I'm slow to move even on something as simple as getting some photos up! See if I can figure out how to add photos here again.
