Two things, Tom:

There are LOTS of drums (sensing a Todd Sucherman influence here hahahahaha)

And more importantly, you are seeing the full pricing. But, when you actually break it down, there are only 6 payments of $4000.

AND... (think from a merchandising/marketing mindset) What's wrong with this picture?

LMAO!

I think the post I saw on FB that led me to that page on Shane's site did actually state that the kit was inspired by Todd's kit.

Yep. Arguably the best snare stand known to man, but a Sonor stand would be more befitting of one of if not the most expensive Sonor drum set for sale online. Not to mention, it clashes.

I bought all DW hardware this past summer when I "got back into drumming." Much of it was used, but in near-mint condition.

Reminds me that I should have gotten the Yamaha stuff again. Nothing against the DW stuff mind you--I was just much happier with the Yamaha stuff that I used to have. No biggee though, it's not like I gig anymore--so once it's set up, it's not moving.

But you're right though--that Yamaha snare stand might well be the best snare stand ever made. That's one thing I will likely buy to replace the DW version.

Shane steered me toward that snare stand/800 series cymbal and tom stands and Tama Speed/Iron cobra Hi Hats when I was playing Gretsch. All top tier stuff. I HOPE Sonor is reworking their hardware line, particularly pedals/hats.

When I bought my first Yamaha RC kit back in December 1990 (got it in January 1991), I also bought a bunch of their hardware as well. Brilliant stuff--and in fact through the next 25+ years I played most of that same stuff...until I sold everything in about 2018 or so. Maybe have been 2019. The point is, that stuff was still in GREAT shape, and I had gigged with it literally hundreds of times during those years. Sure, I added to it over the years--but the original hardware was still very playable. So I will always have a warm place in my heart for Yamaha's hardware. I don't really know why I went with the DW stuff this past summer, other than the dealer I bought the Sonor kit from had a bunch of it in near-mint condition so I saved a few hundred dollars when everything was considered.

I just don't have the same sentiment for the DW hardware though, as I do for the Yamaha stuff. Functionally, it's probably just as good. But I really do miss the Yamaha hardware.

The light colored stripes on that African Marble are much wider than on mine that are 8 years old. I noticed that on Todd's kit too.
