This was a great sounding set and the bass drum was a cannon! Not sure why they weren't in the product line longer.

Ascent? Never played one, heard one live which sounded fab and lots of high praise from owners. They were beech right?

Yes. Pretty close to Phonic thickness. Mine arrived 14 years ago today.
