New Sonor Vintage rig lands Monday!

I am extremely excited!

New Sonor Vintage rig lands Monday!

Post by Jules »

I have 10 packages hitting Monday unless FedEx delivers to the wrong place, loses or steals them. Lots of trouble with FedEx this year and having misplaced packages.

At any rate: I am getting Vintage Series in 13/16/18/22! Also, some hardware pieces needed to streamline my 600 series hardware. I just got back a 600 series DCS that I had 15 years ago and sold, so it's cool to be reunited with that, but I am going to put more modern things on it like memory locks, cymbal tilter hardware and such. May seem trivial to some, but for a few extra bucks, I can have a current spec 600 series stand without buying it brand new.

I also got some light weight (read: somewhat cheap) bags for carrying the drums when needed. The first thing I am going to do is set them up and get the dialed in then head out of town, so the last thing I want to do is bang them up. This will be the best brand new drum set I have ever had. I have had several new sets and many used sets, and the only thing close was the Signatures I had but they were 20 years old, bought in mismatch singles and in some ways were showing their age.

I seriously contemplated an SQ2 set, but we all know what the build and delivery times look like, and I was really struggling with finding a set I liked as an interim kit without really blowing the budget. I was initially going with the Rosewood replica veneer, but that quickly, the 18" was sold and was available in any finish I wanted, as long as it was Teak! (Old Ford Model T joke)

Teak looks nice on the screen and I have all confidence that it is going to look really classy in person! Just 2 days until it all lands. Pics and video to come, for sure!!!

Thanks for coming!

I go through spells of not sleeping good, and the last 5 days have been that way. I am way too tired to work on reheating these and setting them up, but I have them staged to make it easy to get going in the morning.

BTW, those are Hellas for the Artist Bronze. I don't know if I mentioned getting those or not.

Update... 6 nights of really BAD sleep! I only unboxed the drums today and put the Hellas and different heads on the Artist Bronze. But there was a snag...

The wrong drum is on the way back and the replacement was sent today.

Wait is that the 18" FT in Rosewood you originally wanted but you bought Teak because the 18FT didn't exist?
