Hong Kong...

Makes sense, but until they show one of those with the Hella stamp inside I'd be prepared to say they could also be ripoffs?

Didn’t the online Sonor lit claim that the 150th HLD590 hoops were German?

I’m guessing knock-offs. The snare gate in those photos is incompatible with the dual glide quick release

I have had a number of Hella hoops lately including a couple of sets of brand new ones and I don't think they have the Hella logos anymore. I don't think they have in a long time. I don't have any to take off and check, unfortunately.

I think Sonor has a Chinese supplier for these. They would be much more expensive than they are now if made in Germany IMO and plus I don't trust Sonor on information like this anyway LOL. 😄

If these are knock off's .. where are they sold or what drums are they on ? Some sort of evidence for this would come up SOMEWHERE.

I'm almost certain the 150th gold hoops have the Hella stamp

It's time to stop referring to die-cast hoops as hella hoops.

It's time to stop referring to die-cast hoops as hella hoops.

But how to differentiate ? Hella are the badass die cast of the entire industry. General Die cast hoops are the ho-hum design that are on most other drums and some of Sonor products as well. So if you just say you want a Sonor snare with die cast .. are you talking about their generic design die cast or the hella die cast ? you have to mention it at some point.
