You were talking in one of the other threads about how there isn't much space for innovation left... Here's some R&D and this new foot idea to prevent walking around on stage.
I think these things look brilliant. Not visually, but as a product an absolute winner. Yamaha have to respond with a boom stand now.

Yamaha? hope Sonor gets in the game!
But, I don't disagree about your Yamaha comment, either. I never weighed the Yamaha stands (I had a bunch of them at one point) but I get the idea that Yamaha would still be more featherweight than the Tama. I bag full of the Yamaha still weighs very little. But, I think I would favor the Tama. Seems more built to last than the Crosstown, though I have never heard of anyone having to retire their Crosstown either.
I REALLY hope Sonor has new pedal and hardware offerings available sooner than later.
I had a conversation with a friend the other day about the Protec hardware Sonor had years ago. My friend Buz King has lots of it. I was surprised at how heavy it was, actually. But, the concept was different. They basically took their hardware design of that era and built it out of aluminum. It cut lots of weight for sure, but by modern standards it was still weighty and not at all in the same realm as the modern "lightweight" hardware, though it was a tough as nails and would probably never wear out.

I have one entirely unused Protec arm my dad was sent in error. (He'd ordered a Signature Series boom arm with weight, they sent him a Protec, that's how good the UK distributor was in the 90's.) I'm not sure I'd ever consider it even vaguely lightweight...
It would take something special for Sonor to get into this space I think. Apart from the actual material, a lot of the concessions to lightweight are little nibbles at functionality/build quality I don't think Sonor would want to do. But if they did do genuinely light stuff that was fully compatible with all the other stands/basic arm system, without compromising on build that would be pretty special.
