Introducing the Todd Sucherman AA Spotlight Crashes and HHX Redlight Crashes!
10"X9" SQ2 Heavy Birch White Sparkle Tom - For eventual interment
New Rig Coming 2026 (Details TBD)
One of the absolute BEST players on the planet, and a heck of a nice guy to boot. I've always loved his drum & cymbal setup(s), whether it be Pearl or now the Sonor. The Sabian pies he's played always sound great, so I'm sure these cymbals will be a big hit!

I just bought several Foundry Reserve pies from Meinl, otherwise I would likely be looking to do the same...lol. I can't even play these yet, because I don't have a sound-proof studio. So I can't wait for that. But I'd love to hear these things live, and take them for a test drive.

Yeah I get that. I tend to have different 'bands' of cymbals. I have some Foundry Reserves which as you know are really dark and smokey, and I have a set of Paiste 602 which are super sparkly. What I don't have is a full set of 'straight down the middle' Turkish stuff - I have the Session Ride, and together with these new crashes that would be that 'band' of cymbals covered big time.
...and the only problem with having these 'bands' of cymbals, is the cost. It's not like you have to only buy one or two cymbals, lol.

The set of Meinl pies I just bought (Foundry Reserve: 16" hats, 19" crash, 20" crash, 20" light ride; Pure Alloy Custom: 22" ride, 18" SFX) was like $3200. Ouch. But as I had sold off ALL my cymbals 6-7 years ago, I didn't have a single one in the house. If I'd had even a couple of Zildjian pies left, I would have just added more of those...as I've played Zildjian (primarily) for 40 years. But since I had none at all, I spend a month or so researching ALL brands, and ended up going with Meinl.
In that process I ran across a German line that I really liked: Agean. I saw several sets being demo'd with some Sonor Vintage drums, but a German fellow who is an EXCELLENT player. But I couldn't find any distributors here in the US, other than selling their low-volume models...so I couldn't even call someone to discuss prices. And since I also loved the Meinl stuff, I went that route. But I'm sure I'll be revisiting the subject once I need a different "band" of cymbal sounds.
