Prolite Brass 14x6
After watching Julian's video on the limited availability of Prolite Brass snares, I decided it was time to just get one! I had seen them a while back and being a fan of brass snares, I figured I would rather have a fresh one from the factory verses hunting a used one down and paying the inflated prices. Additionally, hearing Todd Sucherman's interview and his heartfelt move back to Sonor, it just convinced me that it was time...what better snare to compliment my SQ1!!! The Prolite Brass is everything they say it is and more. I'm a metal snare guy, but I like warmth to it. This snare has it by the dozen! Tuning range is amazing and it get's nice and low if you want it to and still retains its POP! The diecast hoops give it a real presence. It also blends well with my SQ1. Hard to put into words, but this snare has a "Life" to it. Great stick response and feel. Sensitive and dynamic with great clarity and presence (did I say presence again!) Doubles just roll off the thing, no pun intended, and you want to just play it all day...

Totally agree. This my go to snare. I've had several different Sonor snares including a few SQ2's and I always come back to the Prolite Brass. 14x6 has always been my favorite size and the Hellas just kick it to another gear.
2024 SQ2 22x16, 10x8, 12x9, 16x16 thin birch toms, med birch bass drum, RAL #7044 High Gloss Silk Grey.

Right on Mystic...there is just something consistent about this snare, it just has that "gut" to it and so touch sensitive and dynamic. It opens up so many sonic variations. It's like 10 snares in 1...
