Re: Signature Heavy Makassar Ebony

I personally feel this is an iconic set that should be on stage with a name act.

I refuse to buy any Designer snare with that throw off but love the first production run still using the Throw Off 1.

Re: Where did the 17.5" bass drum depth come from?

Noted also that the Delite 20" bass drum is 17.5" deep. I bought one recently to check out the size since I'm researching a new SQ2 and going back and forth with an 18 or 20 and at what depth. Thought I'd really like the sound of the 'vintage' shell on the Delite but though it's a BIG sounding drum ...

Re: Reverb listing from Poland

I'm somewhat glad they aren't under priced. Helps keep the value of mine UP. About to list a 10, 13, 16, 24 Makassar in Exc. shape. My butt's too tired from sitting computer too long already so it'll have to wait.

Of course, I ask high prices only for bop sizes so the set I mention here will be ...

Re: Sound demo Signature heavy

Interesting juxtaposition between the Beech shells and the Maple of the SE's. I prefer the SE's. Think his bass drum is a 22"? Probably but he doesn't state the size of the 'SonAR KICK drum'. Who kicks these anyway, sound men?

Re: When did the Veneer Change on the Sonor Signatures?

I don't have the exact answer on that but I would say it is easy to tell the first one or two cycles of Signatures, both Ebony and Bubinga didn't last but about 2 years, max. Meaning, the grain was pretty much incredible on those. Started becoming not bad but, just less interesting figuring. My ...

Reverb listing from Poland

What say ye regarding these? I love these early birds, personally. Obviously, the snare doesn't belong in this topic since it's under the heading of Bass Drums/Toms. I'd say the grain is a bit dried but pretty nice from what little can actually be seen in the bright photos. It's an early bass drum ...
