If I can work out a height, for the lower bracket, I’d probably just rivet twice or three times. Set screw would work fine too probably.
The triple tom holder idea won’t work with either as the center run need to accept a 3/4 post itself.

Truly my friend...I have to say if I did it all over again, I'd probably just buy the King Kong Case and enjoy the time, space, and health (no fumes from contact cement).
